1. Matched betting with no risk
Without a doubt, the easiest way to make a lot of money (well, without breaking the law). Many pupils have made hundreds of pounds using this method. It's fully legal, risk-free, and tax-free, and anyone over the age of 18 in the UK can do it (Not in the UK? No. 2 is skipped.
It works by utilizing free bets frequently offered by betting sites and'matching' them at a betting exchange. Matched betting removes risk (you bet both for and against a specific result).
This leaves you with the option of claiming the free bet, which can be worth up to £100. Multiply this by the number of betting sites available and you can quickly make a few hundred pounds.
In this gem of a matched betting guide, Owen shows you through how to make your first £13 profit (using a real-life example). Please let us know if you know of a better way to make £40/hr sitting at home!
2. Oline surveys
Filling out online surveys in your leisure time is an increasingly popular option for students to earn money. Globally, research firms are continuously looking for new members to answer surveys and test new goods.
For a few minutes of form filling, you can earn a couple of quid, which can be given in cash or in the form of prizes. For select surveys, you can earn up to £3 ($5).
Toluna, Branded Surveys, LifePoints, InboxPounds, Onepoll, i-Say, Opinion Outpost, Populus Live, YouGov, Pinecone, Valued Opinions, The Opinion Panel, Prizerebel, Marketagent, Mingle, Opinion Bureau, SurveyBods, Panel Base, Survey Junkie are a few to try.
Sign up for Swagbucks as well, which rewards you for doing surveys as well as browsing the web, viewing videos, and playing games.

3. Get paid to search the internet.
Do you want to make money for doing what you currently do online? This has to be one of the simplest ways to make money online with little to no effort or change in your behavior.
Qmee.com's revolutionary notion rewards you for searching on Google, Bing, Yahoo, Amazon, and eBay. You simply install a simple browser add-on, and when you conduct a search, you may get a few sponsored results alongside your standard search results.
Each Qmee result has a financial reward associated to it; if you're interested, simply click on it to claim your prize.
The nicest part is that there is no minimum cashout amount - our first one was only 72p deposited to our Paypal account. You can also choose to donate it to charity.

4. Trading on the internet
While it is not always a simple way to gain money, investing in the markets can be profitable if done correctly and carefully. By the same token, if you do not take it seriously, you may suffer substantial losses.
There is no longer any need to bankroll the yachts of Wolf of Wall Street-style stock dealers. With the support of internet market trading platforms, you can do it all yourself.
I've started trying with the prominent site eToro.com after spending many hours investigating this new potential.
eToro has over 12 million users globally and provides free practice accounts. It has appeared in the BBC 2 programme "Traders: Millions by the Minute" and sponsors a number of Premier League football clubs.
Trading stocks on eToro is not presently available in the United States.
The CopyTrader tool on eToro is one of the greatest. This allows you to literally view, track, and duplicate the investments of other great performers.
To understand more, read George's comprehensive eToro trading tutorial. I believe $200 is a reasonable amount to get the most out of the learning curve by experimenting with a few different markets. If nothing else, you'll learn a lot about other investments and industries.
Please keep in mind that all trading entails risk. eToro is a multi-asset platform that provides real-estate ownership as well as high-risk leveraged 'CFD' products. When trading CFDs with this supplier, 67 percent of retail investor accounts lose money. You should think about whether you can afford the great risk of losing your money. This information is not intended to provide financial or investment advice.
5. Create your own website.
Are you looking for a way to generate passive income? You must have a website. It is THE WAY TO MAKE MONEY WHILE SLEEPING.
Starting a website with Bluehost takes less than 20 minutes, is inexpensive, and can be completed by an 82-year-old. It simply takes a little social media promotion to obtain your initial visitors, and there are numerous options to monetize your blog.
Save the Student is just one example of a successful website that began in Owen Burek's first year of university and has since developed into a full-time and substantial enterprise.
Read Owen's step-by-step instructions for creating a website in 20 minutes. It's truly one of the most valuable items you can have.
6. Make money reviewing websites and apps.
Well, it appears that you're rather adept with a web browser, so perhaps it's time to become pro and surf websites as a paid and enjoyable profession!
UserTesting.com is a new platform that pays ordinary individuals to review various websites. Each review takes about 20 minutes to complete and earns you $10 (£6.50) via Paypal.
Simply sign up here, perform a test review, and wait for websites to arrive in your mailbox.
7. The 'Disney Vault' mystery
Walt Disney Pictures Inc. is the owner of this image.
Disney Studios carefully limits the supply of select home release classics in order to maintain strong demand throughout generations. They are imprisoned in the 'vault' for 8-10 years before being released for an undefined period of time.
Buy them in this window at normal retail pricing and you'll make a tidy profit when they're no longer available for a decade or two.
In 2011, for example, you could get Beauty and the Beast on Blu-ray 3D for for £24.99. In just a few years, it was selling for a whopping £74.99 on Amazon!
Importantly, not all Disney films are eligible for the vault, and only true classics will continue to be in high demand.
Right now, there are just two games available from the vault that I would recommend purchasing. Bambi Diamond Edition Blu-ray and The Lion King Diamond Edition Blu-ray are the titles.
8. Sites where you can 'Get Paid To'
GPT sites, like online surveys, pay you in cash and vouchers for completing various offers or activities online.
Toluna, Swagbucks, and InboxPounds are the most popular sites nowadays.
9. Learn how to become a delivery rider or driver.
Do you own a bicycle, a motorcycle, or a car? So, how about a smartphone? That's all you need to start earning additional money by delivering food or people anytime you have free time.
Sign up with delivery firms like Deliveroo, which are always looking for new riders. They provide you the freedom to work whenever you want, delivering meals from restaurants to clients' doors. You may earn up to £16 each hour.
Increase your chances by personally calling local takeaways and larger companies like Dominos to check if they have any delivery jobs available.
10. Create and distribute a Kindle eBook.
If there is one thing that students excel in, it is research and writing. Anyone may use the Kindle shop to publish an eBook and earn money on Amazon.
And, because the Kindle app is now available on practically any device (laptops, iPads, iPhones, and, yes, Kindles), your global market potential is enormous!
You get 70% of the sale if you price your book between £1.49 and £6.99. Given that Amazon is the ultimate selling machine (and keep in mind that people are looking to spend), that is a wonderful price.
The key to eBook success is to add value and write nonfiction. Simply combining information you've studied and collated on a common subject (e.g.'secrets' to obtaining a job) and presenting it in an easy-to-digest manner (an eBook) justifies someone paying a few pounds on it.
Another crucial suggestion is to have a nice cover developed (see these) so that it stands out, and after your book is out on the Kindle store, it's critical to obtain some reviews so that it appears higher in search results. At the end of your book, encourage readers to leave an honest review.
And the great thing about this profitable idea is that once you've put in the time (say, 20 hours), you'll generate a passive income for years to come!
More information can be found in our guide on making money from eBooks.
11. Marketing through affiliates
If you have a strong social media presence or perhaps a blog or website, you may start making money right away by promoting various companies, products, services, and deals online.
Sign up as a publisher on the Awin network, then check their offers blog or browse the merchant listings for something you think your friends might be interested in, then get your affiliate link and share it. If someone buys (within the next 90 days) through your link, you'll get a hefty commission.
To take it a step further, create a website (see our instructions) or a subject Facebook group and invite all of your friends to join it, where you may publish your affiliate offers.
12. Recycling of mobile phones
Recycling your old mobile phones and other unneeded equipment can earn you money while also benefiting the environment. Perhaps you could ask your parents if they have any lying around as well.
For the best firms to utilize and how to ensure you obtain all of the amount quoted to you online, visit our page on generating money from old phones.
13. Make a living as a 'Clickworker.'
The Clickworker.com concept is based on "internet crowd-sourcing," in which businesses offer particular, scalable jobs that must be completed promptly. And it's a simple way for us to generate quick money from the comfort of our couch.
There are a number of activities available, but the most typical are thoughtless data entry, web research, and form filling. You are rewarded and paid in cash (through Paypal) for the work you accomplish, and you have complete control over what and when you work. Give it a try.
14. Claim your tax refund
Many students work part-time or over the summer, while others are on placements or paid internships. Most of the time, if you are a student working during the school year, you will overpay income tax.
Why is this so? Simply because few students meet the personal tax-free income allowance each year, but their employers place them on an emergency basic tax-code, resulting in tax being paid when it should not be.
See our guide on student tax refunds to learn more and determine how much tax you may be owed.
15. Earn cashback when you shop.
This is a great way to not only make money but also save money as a student. If you look at it another way, you are making money on every transaction you would have made otherwise, whether it is a 10% or a 0.5 percent payback.
There are a variety of cashback sites that will pay you the commission they would have earned otherwise.
We recommend that you sign up for Top Cashback, Quidco.com, and Swagbucks, which are all free and have the best range of retailers and exclusives.
16. Part-time work
The apparent first choice for most students wanting to supplement their student loan is part-time employment. It provides a fairly consistent source of money and can allow you to obtain significant professional experience.
However, decent employment is not always simple to come by!
Begin with our student employment search, then look for openings in local classifieds and at your university's careers service.
Sign up for CV Library, a free service that will match your CV with suitable part-time jobs and career prospects.
More information can be found in our guide to getting a part-time job while studying.
17. On Fiverr, you can find a variety of gigs.
Fiverr has grown to become the world's largest marketplace for people to earn money by offering modest services (known as' gigs').
What you give might be anything, from writing and translating to social media posting, pranking and educating to making music, voiceovers, and short video clips for people all around the world!
The default price is $5 (hence the name Fiverr...), but you can charge more for additional services attached to gigs. While it may not appear to be much, it can rapidly mount up, and there are numerous stories of people making a solid livelihood from the site. The goal is to put in place a strategy that reduces the amount of time spent on each gig.
However, there is another option to benefit from Fiverr for potentially significantly less work. How so? By simply reselling gigs to other people. Find a good logo designer, for example, and then respond to opportunities on Upwork or even local classifieds. A $5 investment can easily grow to $50 or more, and the process is repeatable!
If you don't want to sell anything, there's so much nice stuff you can get done for yourself.
Take a look around and get inspired!
18. Make money, reviewing music.
If you enjoy music, you can turn it into a business by reviewing unsigned bands and musicians online for money with Slicethepie.
It may take some time to establish your reputation, but some site users claim to earn £40 per month. This may not seem like much, but if it's something you enjoy, it shouldn't be too difficult and will add to your CV. Although the money you earn will be in US dollars, anyone can sign up and review it.
To get started, visit Slicethepie or read our fast guide for additional information.
19. Offer your notes for sale.
It's a terrific opportunity to make some additional money if you don't mind sharing your notes with other students. There are websites where you can upload your notes, along with your price, and then get paid when another student downloads them.
Most of these sites, such as Nexus Notes and Stuvia, allow you to sell your notes for free, but they take a cut of your profits to handle marketing and other tasks, so you don't have to go out there and promote your notes yourself.
You'll most likely have to upload PDFs, but it'll be worth it in the end. You can submit handwritten notes, but you'll make more money if they're typed out.
20. Sell your used course books
One wonderful approach to making money is to buy other students' textbooks toward the end of the year and then sell them right after freshmen's week — when the new students realize they need them!
You can either promote them on campus or quickly post them on Amazon Marketplace (just bear in mind they take a commission on books sold).
21. Participate in competitions
While there are no certainties, there is a growing population of so-called 'compers' in the UK who consistently make up to £50,000 a year through various competitions.
Competitions range from simple registration forms and Facebook page likes to accurately answering phone questions and participating in a TV game show.Instead of merely watching Deal or No Deal, imagine you were on it!
Proceed simply by entering our monthly student competition (follow our Instagram page to find out when the next one is)!
Then go to our active contests page to enter any other free competitions we've discovered. Just keep in mind that some of these sites may send you spam, so use an alias email address and unsubscribe from as many offers as possible.
Read our guide to entering competitions for even more advice on winning and making money from them.
22. Domain name purchases and sales
A domain name is simply a website address (for example, 'savethestudent.org' or'mysite.co.uk '), and there are numerous extensions (.com, .net, .co.uk etc).
They may be registered for as low as $0.99 with GoDaddy.com, yet premium domain names can bring $1,000s, if not millions, when sold. VacationRentals.com was sold for a good $35 million in 2007!
You're unlikely to stumble across anything like that, but with a little searching, you may still generate a quick profit. The trick is to discover available domain names with commercial worth, purchase them, and then list them for sale on a site like Sedo.com.
23. A mystery shopper
Today, becoming a mystery shopper is easier than you think, and you can be well compensated.
There are plenty of organizations that will pay you to visit various stores and restaurants and provide comments on how they are operating. In our guide on how to become a mystery shopper, we reviewed the best agencies.
Another type of mystery shopping is tasking applications, which reward you for completing small local chores. It can also be a lot of fun!
24. Become a Celebrity Extra
Do you see yourself as a budding young actor or just someone who wanders by in the background of an episode of Eastenders? If you apply to be an extra on TV or film, it may be you.
The pay is also not bad: £60-80 per day on average, and you don't have to do much!
There are numerous casting agencies that work with eager extras. They make money by taking a percentage of your earnings, so always ask what that is before taking on employment.
Visit our how to become an extra guide for 5 of the best agencies for additional information on landing your first gig.
25. Sell all of your old CDs, video games, and movies.
Selling your outdated bits and bobs that are cluttering up your space is a smart idea if you want to make a quick dollars.
The great part is that you can rip all of the tunes and movies onto your laptop or external hard drive before you sell them. This means you're only selling the plastic and the artwork!
You can earn anything from 10p to £20 per item, and if you have a large collection, the rewards can quickly mount up. While you're at it, see if your parents have any "clutter" they'd like to get rid of.
You can also sell nearly anything for free on Amazon Marketplace or Preloved, and businesses such as MusicMagpie will pay you immediately for sending in old products.
More selling strategies and locations can be found in our guide on selling DVDs, CDs, and games.
26. Sell yourself and your education
It is now easier than ever to become a tutor for other students. Until recently, your market was confined to local face-to-face sessions, but now you can go global thanks to online tutoring companies!
Udemy enables anyone to create an online course (on absolutely anything!) and earn money indefinitely as users take it up.
List yourself on Superprof and UK Tutors if you want to tutor one-on-one.
You can expect to earn up to £10 per hour tutoring younger GCSE or A Level students, and you don't have to be highly qualified. Begin by reading our guide to earning money as a private tutor.
27. Sell your photographs.
If you believe you have a nice picture and a little originality, consider sending your photos for free to stock websites. Adobe Stock or Getty Images are wonderful places to start.
Make extra money by selling photo subjects that have fewer search results but that you believe will be in demand. It could be a good idea to test them in print first (get free photo prints here).
28. Rent out your parking spot.
Some student housing units include a driveway or garage. If you don't use your parking space and live in a congested location, you might be in luck. There are many people who work in the city center and are tired of paying exorbitant daily parking fees.
Advertise your parking space in Gumtree, Parklet, or Just Park.
Alternatively, you can read our whole guide to renting out your parking place.
29. Taking care of children
It's a tried-and-true money-maker, and for good reason. You get paid to (ideally) watch TV and not much else.
If you're unsure how much to charge, look at local classifieds, but even if you're not trained in childcare, you may expect to get paid more than £9 per hour.
Aside from advertising yourself, creating a profile on Care Babysitting is free. It can truly be easy money (unless you end up with the child from hell!).
Our childcare guide talks you through the major considerations. In the United Kingdom, for example, you will require a DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service) check to care for small children, even though some parents may not request one.
30. Walking and sitting for dogs
If infants aren't your thing, perhaps dogs will be... dog sitting is big business. Students, in particular, are more likely to have free time throughout the day when others are at work or concerned about their pets at home.
You might earn roughly £10 per hour per dog, and it's also a terrific way to stay in shape.
Join Care Pet Care, the premier company for dog sitting and walking.
31. Make your own bank.
'Peer-to-peer' lending is the banking industry's future. It eliminates the middleman, resulting in greater interest rates for you and lower loans for borrowers. And it's all done online, from the comfort of your own couch.
Zopa is the most established P2P site, having been founded in 2005. They currently have over 60,000 active investors.
Depending on how long you choose to lend for, you can expect a set return of up to 5%. If you can, open an ISA account to receive tax-free interest.
Peer-to-peer lending, like any traditional bank, carries a certain risk. Zopa has done a good job of reducing this by distributing your funds across many different borrowers (who are also credit checked). You can also select items based on your risk and reward tolerance.
32. Volunteer as a charity collector.
So, this work requires a special type of person, since you will have to deal with a lot of rejection and be persistent.
However, if you are effervescent, friendly, and believe you could sell ice to an Inuit, this could be a terrific student money generating option. You are compensated for new sign-ups (usually around £20).
Look into Wesser as well as charity websites like Oxfam.
33. Rent out your home for filming purposes.
Houses to film in are always in high demand among TV and film directors. For example, a Coronation Street scene was just filmed in the student house where one of the Save the Student editors used to live!
Not only can you make a lot of money, but it's also surreal to see your own business on TV.Begin by taking a look at this website.
34. You can rent your body.
Why not attempt life modeling if you are comfortable taking off your equipment? Sit there in your underwear as budding artists capture every curve (or pokey bit) in terrifying detail! Try RAM, a website created specifically for this type of work.
You could also participate in clinical drug trials, but make sure you completely understand the hazards associated.
Warning: Regardless of how desperate you are for money, do not do anything you are not comfortable with!
35. work as a Freelance
Perhaps you like to write, manage Facebook sites, or dabble in graphic design in your spare time. There are numerous freelancing jobs available that only require basic abilities or time that someone else may not have.
The best part about freelancing is that you may work for clients in the UK and around the world from the comfort of your own home, on your own schedule, while learning essential skills.
Upwork.com, the top freelance website, is an excellent place to start. Alternatively, you can use our student employment search to find freelance employment closer to home.
36. eBay clothing sales
When it comes to getting rid of rubbish, eBay is everyone's best friend. Online auctions are a sure-fire way to turn that sleeveless jacket (which went out of style in a week) into cash.
Some eBay sellers study trends in order to forecast what will be popular in the future. If you're good and don't mind taking a risk, you can buy in bulk early and sell when the craze strikes.
This tutorial contains a plethora of other eBay selling tips.
37. Sell your films and stories.
If you have a compelling tale, you may attempt to sell it to the media. It could range from sleeping with a professional footballer to becoming entangled in a clothes horse!
One of the Save the Student team members had a pigeon come in and damage their glass at university, and they sold the tale to The Sun for a tidy £50.
You may also record your friends at all times and submit them to You've Been Framed for £250 and a few seconds of fame.
38. Videos from YouTube
According to recent statistics, we now watch more videos on YouTube than we do Google searches.
And, thanks to the recently launched YouTube Partner Program, you may now profit from creating and posting videos. You will be paid a share of the advertising revenue generated for every 1,000 views.
You can make a lot of money depending on how successful you are (virality, subscriber base, and topic), and there are plenty of tales every week of more and more YouTubers making it their career.
More advice can be found in our guide on making money on YouTube.
39. Watch videos
If making videos sounds like too much effort, getting paid to watch videos online has to be one of the simplest methods to generate money ever.
Swagbucks and InboxPounds are the most popular websites because they essentially pay you to sit back and watch stuff like advertisements and videos in the hopes that they will become viral.
Consider working as a freelancer putting up movie subtitles or writing film reviews for more involved and rewarding options.
If you enjoy viewing videos and movies and want to improve your profits, check out our complete list of ways to make money from viewing videos.
We all know how much money there is in real estate, but on the surface (with house prices as high as they are), you might think this market is closed to new entrants.
In reality, many people make a lot of money just by finding suitable homes for wealthy investors who simply don't have the time.
The strategy is to find properties at or below market value (BMV) by avoiding estate agents and instead distributing flyers in your neighborhood with your contact information offering to buy houses. Then contact investors with a no-brainer offer to pass on the specifics of a low-cost home in exchange for a percentage of the sale price.
Monthly networking events for landlords and property investors will be held in most cities. Find these, join up, put on your best suit, and bring plenty of business cards. You might also start on LinkedIn or Twitter to make some early contacts.
As you might expect, this isn't a quick way to generate money, but if you have a few investors in your phone book, it may be quite profitable in the long run. If you're interested, I recommend that you read this guide.
